Boca de Sabalos, Rio San Juan, Nicaragua – October 11th, 2011 – Global Green Carbon Corporation (“Global Green Carbon”, “GGC” or the “Company”) announced today the opening of its project headquarters in Boca de Sabalos, Rio San Juan, Nicaragua.
The office will serve as Global Green Carbon’s operational base for its Rio San Juan reforestation and agroforestry project. The project is focused on working with small- and medium-sized landholders to reforest 2500 hectares of degraded pastureland in the Rio San Juan Province of south-eastern Nicaragua, located in the buffer zone of the Indio Maíz Biosphere Reserve. The long-term project will provide multiple benefits on a local, regional and global scale including environmental, biodiversity and social.
"Getting our operational headquarters up and running has been crucial for the success of the project,” stated Kirsten McGregor, president of GGC. Ms. McGregor went on to say, “Establishing a physical presence in the Rio San Juan has accelerated our pre-implementation activities and has firmly established GGC’s profile within the community. By living and working in this remote region we show our commitment to the project’s success and further build trust with the project participants.”
